How to Add or Remove Item Tags

This article describes the process of adding or removing tags as an additional means to select and filter data.

Go to the Selection or any of the Analytics Interface

Select the item or group of items you would like to select by searching for the item or using one of the many selection options. Filtering limits the selection interface to only show the item or group of items you would like to tag. Read the article Item Selection Interface to learn about searching and filtering items.

  1. In the example below, we filtered by the tag "Test-1"
  2. Click on "Select All" or check the item after the filter is applied to select the item(s).
  3. Click "Edit" to open Multi-Edit options.

  1. Click on the "Other" tab of the multi-edit interface. Scroll down to "Tag Management"
  2. Check the box to enable the "Assign / Remove Tag" function
  3. Click on "Assign Tag" to assign or create a tag against one or more items
  4. Click the "Remove Tag" to remove one or more tags against one or more items

Assigning Tags

  1. Click "Assign Tag" to open the Assign Tag pop-up
  2. If the Tag already exists, select the appropriate tag from the drop down
  3. Click "Select" to apply the tag to the item(s)
  4. If the desired Tag does not exist, create a new Tag by typing the Tag name in the box
  5. Click "Assign" to add and apply the tag to the item(s)
  6. As tags are selected, the will appear in the "Assign Tag" location
  7. Click the "x" to close the pop-up
  8. Click "Save" to apply the Tag(s) to the Item(s)

Additional tags may be applied to the item(s) by repeating 2 through 7 prior to saving or 2 to 5 then 6 and 7.

Additional tags may be applied at one time by repeating 2 through 6 prior to saving. You may also repeat 2 to 5 to assign additional tags followed by 7 and 8.

Removing Tags

  1. Repeat the steps above, but instead of click the "Assign Tag" option, click on the "Select Tag" option
  2. Select the Tag from the drop-down to remove
  3. Click "Select" to select the tag to remove
  4. As tags are selected, the will appear in the "Remove" Tag location
  5. Click the "x" to close the pop-up
  6. Click Save to remove the tag(s) from the item(s)

Additional tags may be removed at one time by repeating 2 through 4 prior to saving. You may also repeat 2 to 3 to remove additional tags followed by 5 and 6.
